WNBA rookie Brittney Griner recently blogged for ESPNW about her experience in the league so far.
The opening line of her blog post is "One great thing about being in the WNBA is that no day is the same." She goes on to describe how each day, in addition to practice, the team participates in community activities or appear in front of the media. She says that she enjoys it all and feels so honored to be a part of the league.
Griner goes on to discuss her knee injury, calling it frustrating and saying that she feels bad about not being able to help out her teammates. And sitting on the sidelines just isn't her thing. She wants to be out on the court, competing.
During the All-Star game, Griner made her own fun. Since she wasn't able to play, she spent time with the fans an cheered on her teammates. It was an experience she will never forget.
Now the Phoenix Mercury are back in action for the second half of the season with a busy month of August. Griner hopes to help her team finish strong and make a playoff run.
