Chris Davis' homer in the top of the 8th inning not only broke a 3-3 tie in the game, but it also went 453 feet. The homer marked the 41st homer hit by Davis this season. He continues to lead the MLB in home runs hit.
The Orioles won the game, and the series over the Padres, by a score of 10-3. In the game, the birds got 13 hits and had no errors. San Diego only recorded seven hits in the game and had 3 errors. One of those errors allowed Orioles pitcher Miguel Gonzalez to get on base.
Despite struggling in the past few games, Gonzalez had a solid six innings pitched. He gave up three runs in the sixth and shut out the Padres in the first five innings. But it was Fransisco Rodriguez who ended up getting the win. He came in for the seventh inning and held the Padres scoreless and hitless while striking out two.
Tomorrow is another day of travel for Baltimore. They will take on the San Francisco Giants Friday night at 10:15pm ET.
