Chris Davis hit his 45th home run of the season and went 4-for-5 in the Orioles 7-2 win over the Rockies Sunday afternoon. Davis also added 2 RBIs, one coming on the homer he hit in the 8th inning.
After a rough road trip, the Orioles were glad to be back home. After losing three straight to the Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore made their way back east with a nine-game home stand on the horizon. After a day's rest, the Orioles dropped the series opener to the Rockies. But they came back strong to defeat the Rockies 8-4 Saturday night. It was Sunday's win that clinched the series for the Orioles.
Davis wasn't the only one hitting the long ball in the win. Adam Jones also hit a homer, his coming in the 3rd inning, bringing home Davis. Jones went 3-for-5 in the game with 2 RBIs. Second baseman Brian Roberts, who was in the DH position for the game, also gathered 2 RBIs.
Starting pitcher Scott Feldman joined in on the fun as well, getting his third win of the season. The 30-year old, Hawaiian native pitcher allowed both of the Rockies hits off of five hits, but recorded three strikeouts. He held the Rockies scoreless up until the 7th inning.
The Orioles begin their three game series against the Tampa Bay Rays tomorrow night at 7:05pm ET.
